Our last full week of the term has been a busy and fun, festive week. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching the dress rehearsal of the infant nativity on Monday afternoon and were very impressed with our classmates in the choir who provided the beautiful accompaniment. Our Christmas lunch on Wednesday was a great success with plenty of clean plates for the kitchen staff. The children had the challenge of making a Secret Santa present for someone in the class, using a piece of A3 paper and gifts were exchanged on Friday. I was extremely impressed with people's creativity. The P4s ran a Fairtrade Tuckshop this week and we had the opportunity to purchase a Fairtrade chocolate crispy on Friday.  And of course, the P5 Christmas Party on Thursday afternoon was full of games, dancing and more food !!

We even managed some work this week too !! In Literacy we used similes and descriptive vocabulary to write a short story, following a challenging set criteria. We also had a Circle Time discussion about the traditions that we and our families follow at this time of year and wrote a 'Magical' Christmas Recipe to illustrate. We read about Hannukah and answered comprehension questions and completed our last reading for the term, so you can expect books home in the New Year.

In Numeracy we continued our work on 2 D shapes, looking at lines of symmetry and tiling patterns. We also completed a fun '12 Days of Christmas' problem solving quiz.

A wee reminder that school finishes for the term on Wednesday 21st of December at 3pm. Have a great weekend everyone.
