P5b have had a very exciting week, puting last minute finishing touches to our craft for the Christmas Fayre. The choir had a fantastic opportunity to sing at Sky with Mrs Baxter on Thursday too. They did us proud.

In Literacy we were consolidating some of our recently developed grammar skills ; writing short stories with set criteria. It was quite a challenge to come up with the EXACT number of words !! We further practised our informal letter writing with a letter to Santa and completed a listening and comprehension task about Advent.

In Numeracy we revisited Shape, starting with revision of appropriate vocabulary. We had to name and describe 2D shapes, and draw and label lines of symmetry. We used our ICT time to practise our known tables, focusing on division.

The girls and boys have been given the challenge of creating a 'Secret Santa' present for a classmate, using only one piece of A3 paper. The children are really enjoying the opportunity to be as creative as possible and are coming up with some fabulous ideas.

Friday was a magical day in school. Between the Christmas Fayre and Christmas Jumper Day, one couldn't but help feel extremely festive. It was lovely to see all the families that were able to make it into school and can I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support, ensuring a highly successful day.

Have a great weekend everyone.
