As the term progresses, the weather is definitely turning !! Could I remind parents to ensure that their child has an appropriate warm & waterproof jacket in school every day, as we continue to follow an active curriculum including outside breaks wherever possible.
This week in Literacy we were looking at the different classes of words
( nouns, connectives, prepositions etc ) and identifying each in pieces of written work. For Functional Writng we looked at what instructions are needed in a game. We designed our own board games and made notes on the rules. We hope to complete the written instructions next week. Everyone is progressing nicely with group reading and are enjoying the various stories. And we have finished our class novel 'Lampie' and would definitely recommend it.
In Numeracy we introduced problem solving within multiplication and also started looking at 2/3 digit numbers, working vertically
( "chimney sums " ) We have used our ICT time to further practise our times tables as well.
We have started our Enterprise for this year and everyone has a role within their chosen department. We are in the process of deciding our company name and logo. Very exciting !! Our Christmas Fayre craft has now started too ....
