The Travelling Book Fair has been with us this week and many of the children in the class purchasing some great titles. We look forward to everyone sharing their books and recommendations.

In Literacy we finished the final chapter of our class novel 'Lampie' which proved to be quite an emotional rollercoaster of a read !! The children were sad to see our new friend's adventures come to an end. We practised dictionary skills at the beginning of the week and are working now with increased confidence - our spelling is improving too !! For Comprehension we learned about Guru Nanak, the first guru of the Sikh faith, who's birthday was celebrated recently.

In Numeracy we are continuing to work on the speed and accuracy of our times tables. We also looked at the patterns associated with multiplying by 10 and 100. We have played interactive maths games and board games to support us in our learning. We competed in the Fife Maths Contest on Sumdog which was fun and we collectively achieved some great results.

As our topic 'Oceans' nears it's end, we are now looking at ways to improve the conservation of our seas and planet as a whole. We studied renewable energies, including hydro electric power, and discussed the advantages and disadvantages for all.

In P.E. we came together with Primary 5a to learn some new Scottish Country dances for our class parties at the end of the term. We focused on the Canadian Barn Dance and also tried our hand at Strip the Willow. It was great fun and VERY tiring ...

The class was extremely lucky to get an invite from the P7s to be part of their audience for an afternoon of drone displays. The P7s worked extremely hard and put on an excellent and very entertaining demonstration. Well done P7.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.
