It was great to see so many families at the Summer Fete last Friday. We were extremely lucky with the weather and I hope that you'd all agree that it was a fun and successful afternoon.

P5b have been busy this week developing our writing skills. We worked with similes and sentence openers to help up level our work. We also completed a reading comprehension exercise about pollution in our oceans which was very interesting. We learned a lot of new facts, especially about plastic pollution.

In Numeracy we used our skills and knowledge of Place Value to work with larger 2 and 3 digit numbers, partitioning and adding mentally. We are also continuing to complete more logic puzzles which are developing our abilities to 'think outside the box'.

Our 'Oceans' topic is going really well and we are now focusing on pollution and conservation. We've been finding out about some of the causes of pollution and will concentrate on plastic waste in more detail next week. In P.E. we learned some of the skills needed for basketball and practised a few hoops.

Can't quite believe that we're heading into the last week of term one already. Time has just flown by. It was lovely to meet more of you at our Parent/Teacher evenings this week and I look forward to continuing to work with you all next term. Have a lovely weekend.
