It has been a super busy week in P5A with a huge focus on moving our personal projects on Wallace and Bruce forward.
The children are enjoying finding out about these two historical figures. They are great Scottish heroes and they fought for the independance of Scotland.  In ICT we used a word document to make a bulletpoint list of the characteristics/physical description of both of these men. We also realised that there are a few different versions of their stories and that we do not quite know which information is accurate.
The personal folders are looking absolutely fantastic. We are taking great care with our presentation and are using a wide range of information, pictures , maps, diagrams and drawings to make our folders as interesting as we can.  Everyone is very enthusiastic about the project work. Well done everyone!
In PE we enjoyed doing some Tai Chi moves.  Our class novel is Danny Chung does not do Maths and it is all about the Chinese culture. The Tai Chi made us all feel very calm and relaxed.  We also played a fun Hoop follow my leader game.
In Writing we wrote acrostic poems about Wallace and Bruce. We used all our project information and made sure to include good description and vocabulary. These poems will also be added into our personal folders.
We started our John Muir Outdoor Learning sessions on Wednesday with P5B and took our time to record all physcial/natural objects  in our playground and playing field. We are going to draw a map of our school grounds using all our information that we gathered. It was great to get outside on the playing field.
In Number work we are working on co-ordinates, position and direction. Everyone has shown a great understanding of these concepts..
Our Social Target of the Week Winner is Calin! Calin has shown a positive attitude at the beginning of the term andhas shown respect towards others. Well done!
We wish everyone a peaceful  long weekend!
