It is wonderful to see all the girls and boys back in school full of enthusiasm and ready to learn. It has been a very busy first week back.

Our new class novel is "Danny Chung Does not do Maths" by Maisie Chan.  We are excited to learn all about Danny, the mysterious Nai Nai and the Chinese culture.

There is a lot of excitement about our project this term. It is about two Scottish heroes,  William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.  We have each been assigned one of these historical figures to research and it will take the form of a personal project.  We started to do our research during ICT time and in art we are busy creating our front covers. We also made a first page for our project by compiling a small fact file to introduce each person. This research will be led by the children and some tasks will be sent home to be completed and returned.

We wrote a personal piece of  writing about "A Special Friendship". Everyone really enjoyed writing about a special friend or a special pet. Our focus was on including our feelings in our writing and to change the length of our sentences to add extra interest.

In PE we started a block on Hockey. Over the next few weeks we will learn all the skills we need  and this will lead into small games.  Gym days will remain on a Monday and Thursday.

Our Social Target Winner of the Week is Harris who has started this term with a positive attitude.

We wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
