It has been a very productive week in Primary P5A.
It has been so lovely to meet with parents to discuss the progress the children have made with their learning.I am looking forward to sharing further good news on Monday night.
In Health and Well-Being we have worked hard on showing a more posiitive attitude concerning our actions/words in/outside the classroom. We recognise that words and actions can be very hurtful towards others and that we need to take responsibiltiy for how we act and speak. We have created self portraits using a speech bubble containing a positive message. We are busy using the Chatterpix app to animate these.
We continue to show a solid understanding of decimals and looked at adding and subtraction of decimal numbers. Lots of good work using whiteboards has taken place and we are working well in our maths pairings.
In writing we completed all our note-taking on Light and we will be ready to start writing our reports next week.  We learnt lots about skimming/scanning techniques and how to select the main idea in a sentence.  We used dictionaries to change some of the words into words of our own.  We also gained a lot of new information about our topic on Light.  There has been fantastic homework tasks completed by the children making water xylophones, creating shadow images and recording unusual sounds in our houses. Well done everyone!
For science/project work we have created our own kaleidoscopes.  This was a great activity and they work very well.  We also took part in a competition to create a RRS logo for the school.
Our week ended with a Red Nose fun day. We say a special thank you to Primary 5b/ Mrs Heggie for organising this for the whole school to enjoy..
Our Social Target Winner of the Week is Aaron. Aaron has made super progress with all his work this year. Congratulations!
We wish everyone a fantastic Mother's Day weekend.
