It has been a very exciting week full of great highlights. It started with our Scottish Reconnector on Monday where we had the opportunity to listen to poetry recitals and some singing. We really enjoyed this. Our lovely Thistle artworks looked great in the hall too. Congratulations goes to Hannah, Aidan and Aaron for being finalists after their Scots poem recital. What a wonderful effort!
We have been working very hard with P5B on learning the words for the Fife Music Festival songs in the Vine Conference Centre on Thursday. Our performance was absolutely brilliant with lots of smiling faces, beautiful singing and excellent instrument playing. Thank you to Isla Shorthouse for doing an excellent job in introducing our performance to the audience.  Thank you also to Mrs Baxter for all her hard work teaching us all the wonderful songs about the ocean. We had a Fantastic time and represented Canmore Primary School with great pride. Both P5 teachers are delighted with the performance and excellent behaviour from our classes.
In Spelling we are focusing on revision of P5 Gold level common words.  Everyone is working hard on their spelling and good progress is being made. We are getting a lot better at identifying tricky parts and sounds in words and realise that we can get better if we practice our words.
To aid our work on Fractions we have taken part in a fantastic times tables activity where we used big number templates to practice our times tables.  We filled the numbers with lots and lots of times tables and everyone really enjoyed this activity.  In Number we looked specifically at equivalent fractions and how to identify, find and draw these.
We are enjoying using BBC Bitesize to look at various small video clips to do with different aspects of Sound.  It has been very interesting.
We are becoming much more confident in talking about our learning and what our next steps are.  Everyone is using the reflection time on a Friday very well and they are able to give a more detailed answer to questions.
"Children should do homework."  This is the title of our persuasive writing this week.  We are busy deciding for or against this statement and planning our writing.
Our Social Target winner of the week is Tia.  Tia has worked hard and has made good choices this week. Well done!
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
