There has been a lot of super work in Primary P5A this week.
Our new class novel is "Goldfish Boy" by Lisa Thompson,  We listened very well to the first chapter and had to draw a map of the street in which Matthew lives,  We added in all the details of all the houses and found out some interesting information about the inhabitants of the seven houses.
We are developing our understanding of fractions and are using a fantastic resource.  It is called Scott Morrow Maths and this week we are identifying and finding fractions and finding a fraction of a value.  We enjoyed working alongside Scott Morrow to investigate fractions further.  It is great to have some thinking time and to be able to work as a pair to find the answers.
In PE we continued our Gymnastics block by introducing some apparatus.  We discussed saftety issues and the children came up with their own moves.  We concentrated on completing our moves by ending in a pose.  Well done everyone!
We are working hard learning the songs for the Music Festival and ask that everyone takes some time at home to look over the words.  Thank you to the three helpers who have offered their help at the Festival. It is much appreciated.  Congratulations to Isla S for being selected as an announcer for the Festival.
Well done to all for all your efforts in learning the words for your Scottish poem.  Just try your best and remember to have fun while you are practicing in front of a mirror or to your parents.  Mrs Wehmeyer is looking forward to listening to your recitals.
Our fantastic Sun/Moon Mexican inspired Mixed Media artworks have now been completed and they are already brightening up our classroom.  We have moved onto creating a love heart artwork inspired by the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. Mondrian is well known for his use of primary colours in blocks and black lines.
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
