It has been a busy week in Primary 5A with everyone working hard on all their tasks. We are getting much better at completing our work in the time set and also taking more care with our presentation in our jotters.
It was wonderful to see all our P5A families at our Meet the Teacher afternoon last Friday. We hope you enjoyed being back in school and having the opportunity to see your child's working environment.
In Writing we looked at lots of information about lighthouses and we started to write a report using headings.  We gained lots of new information about lighthouses and why they are so important.
We continue to work hard on improving our spelling using a variety of different strategies.
In Number work we partitioned numbers into thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. We enjoyed doing work together on wipeboards.  Next week we will move onto column addition and subtraction strategies.
Our project on Oceans has been most enjoyable. In ICT we completed a fact file on the Pacific Ocean. We also did a Rock pool labelling activity and a Scottish Coast animals labelling activity. For Art we are making a poster to highlight plastic pollution in the Oceans.
In PE we played a fantastic game called "Corners". Lots of great skills and enthusiasm were shown during this activity.
Congratulations goes to our Social Target of the Week winner, Eduardo. He is always respectful towards everyone at school.
Enjoy the weekend and let's hope for some lovely Autumn sunshine!
