It has been a super week in P5A! We have worked so hard on improving our listening skills and the way we leave and return to the classroom. Well done P5A!
We wrote an imaginative story, using a picture of a little girl and a whale as our 'hook'. We are really enjoying our class novel 'Lampie'. It is a story about a young girl who lives in a lighthouse near the sea. We have completed our single word spelling test and everyone gave their very best effort.
In Numeracy we looked at partitioning numbers up to 1000 and writing nrs in words and digits. The layour in our jotters has been very good and everyone worked well with their partners.
We love our Oceans topic and are very proud of our developing mural. We have completed our origami boats and they carry some very special passengers. These are super fantastic!. We used our mapping skills to locate and name the most important oceans and seas around the world. We also focused on all the oceans surrounding Scotland and the United Kingdom.
In Art we are using mixed media to create an emotive artwork of a lighthouse by the ocean. This also links with our class novel "Lampie". We investigated the properties of watercolour paint and are adding a subtle sky and ocean background to our lighthouses. We cannot wait to see the end results.
In PE we are developing ball skills and hand eye cooerdination.
The P5 Homework Grid, spelling lists and reading wallets will be uploaded onto Seesaw at the beginning of next week. If you still have to return your child's NHS Immunisation letter and/or money for a class recorder, can you please do so next week.
Thank you kindly to everyone who has sent in some shells. seaglass, pebbles and bottletops to be used to construct our lighthouse next to our boat mural.
The Social Target of the Week winner is Alexander. He has shown a positive attititude with all his work. Well done!
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
