It has been a very busy week in P5/6!
We continue to enjoy our new class novel, "Finding Bear" by Hannah Gold. April is still struggling to fit in at school.  She has now moved away from the city to live near the seaside but she misses Bear. Dad also has a new girlfriend and she is not sure how she feels about this.
We are working very hard on our mini projects.  We have designed our front covers and everyone has written an introduction . At the moment we are drawing some pictures to include in our projects.
The biggest highlight of this week was our fantastic trip to Dynamic Earth on Wednesday. It was a brilliant day for everyone.   We started the day with bright sunshine and a workshop on Climate Change. We took part in four different investigations and shared our findings with others. Allie was covered up in blankets, to show the effect of an overheating Earth.  Our home is getting hotter and hotter and we need to make many changes to stop this.  We then went to visit the Planetarium. It was an amazing experience and we had the opportunity to view our Earrh from out of space, under the ground and from inside the ocean.  The movie was full of cool effects and it felt like we were right inside it. SUPER COOL! After a well-deserved lunch, we completed our day with a tour. We looked at the development of Earth through the ages and had a chance to touch and investigate things.  It was a memorable day for all. Well done to everyone for showing the Canmore values and representing your school with great pride. Thank you also to our parent helpers and Mrs Mitchell. Your help is much appreciated by all of us.
In Number work we are completing our work on fractions. We looked at using multiplication and division to find equivalent fractions.  We will now move onto Time.
Our Social Target Winner of the Week is Alexander. He has worked very hard on his mini project this week and has made some sensible choices. Well done Alexander!
We wish everyone a lovely weekend!
