It has been a very busy week in Primary 5/6!
We are delighted to report that we performed really well in reading comprehension activities which highlighted that our skills and understanding are greatly developing! We really enjoyed using the Reading Five activities in class. It has helped us a lot with our comprehension skills. Very well done everyone!
We have made the brave decision to attempt a different type of planter.  Our planter will be a rock garden, filled with succulents, grasses and painted pebbles with insects on it.  It will provide interest all year long. Well done to two groups of children for clearing dirt from the bottom of the planter, sweeping up all the dirt and taking out some tree stumps and roots.  It was a very good beginning to our project.  If anyone is able to donate grasses, succulents, broken garden pots ( not too big ), pebbles and cobbles, it will be much appreciated.  It will form part of the work we are doing to receive our John Muir awards.
On Tuesday we took part in the "Big Sing" event in Rothes Halls.  We sang four Linn March songs and created some sound stories to the music.  The behaviour of the children were impeccable and they demonstrated excellent listening and singing skills on the day.  They also represented Canmore Primary School with pride.
The huge highlight this week was the celebration of World Book Day on Thursday.  It was a fun-filled day. Everyone came to school in their pyjamas and we made some dens in the classroom, using soft furnishings.  Every den had a name related to books.  The children absolutely loved making their dens.  It was also wonderful to have an opportunity to visit the Book Swap. It was an excellent chance to pick new books to read and to refresh our own library in our class. Thank you to the P6's/Mrs Watt, for organising the Book Swap for all of us.
In Number work we were introduced to Mean, Mode, Median and Range.  Everyone worked together on whiteboards.  Well done everyone!
Our Social Target Winner of the Week is Isla Crawford.  Isla always delivers great contributions to classroom discussions.  Well done Isla!
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Happy Mother's Day to all the mums on Sunday! We hope you like the little gift we made for your in class.
