We are really enjoying using a variety of spelling strategies to help us improve our spelling.  Regular practice has helped us to feel a lot more confident about applying spelling rules in written work.
Well done everyone!
For number work we have looked at long multiplication, using a single and double digits. We worked together on wipeboards and showed a lot of resilience. We explored different ways to find the answer to multiplication problems.  Everyone found a strategy they understood well, and they were able to show their working out.  We also started exploring a few division strategies this week.
In PE we played a fantastic new game, called "Fireball".  It is basically like Dodgeball, but a lot of fun. We explored ways to make the game harder or easier.
We did some fabulous research during ICT on micro-organisms.  Some children confidently read out their findings in front of their classmates. We were all quite repulsed to find out that we have bugs that live in our eyelashes.
In writing we used a picture prompt to write a story about a Lighthouse Town.  The most interesting part of the picture was that the lighthouse  and town were completely under water. The focus was on including feelings in our writing.  Mrs Wehmeyer is looking forward to reading these stories.
For Health and Well-Being we created name labels.  These labels will be put up around our classroom and when we have completed a good piece of work we will put it on display under our names.  We like sharing our success with our classmates.
After looking at some pictures of "The Butterbridge" in the Scottish  Highlands, we started creating our own bridge artworks.  This is a very old stone bridge built around 1748. We are going to use pencil, watercolour pencils and watercolour paint to complete these artworks. We have only completed the pencil drawing part of our artwork.
The Social Target Winner of the Week is Kornel. He always makes safe and sensible choices. Well done Kornel!
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
