It has been an awesome, special week in Primary 5/6! After weeks of practicing and learning words we were ready for the Fife Music Festival.

All our hard work and preparation payed off and we were just FANTASTIC!  The Vine Conference Centre is a wonderful venue and we showed a lot of respect and consideration towards performances from other schools. We stood proud and had huge smiles on our faces. We were complimented on this and on our beautiful, blended sound. The choices of songs were also a great hit with the adjudicator and audience.  We performed "Many Shades of Blue, "Hot Air Balloon" and "Gravity".  We were delighted with the many positive comments we received and look super smart in our school uniforms and ties.  Both teachers were extremely proud of everyone. Congratulations goes to Eduardo for his role as an announcer at the Festival. He spoke clearnly and confidently. Well done to Isla C for being an instrumentalist in our "Gravity" song.  A huge thanks goes to Mr Crawford and Mrs Ferguson for their help on the day.  We really appreciate your help.  Mrs Baxter expertly accompanied us on the piano and we are so very lucky to have her playing for us.

Our Choir members delighted the audience with their very PHENOMENAL performance at the Fife Music Festival this morning.  In her little speech the adjudicator said: " Your performance moved me to tears" and" I did not want to write, I just wanted to listen". WOW! What more could I have asked from this group of children.  The songs were expertly sung with light, shade and drama. We performed "Dreamer, "Blowing in the Wind" and "I am the Earth". Huge congratulations goes to Isla S, who sang as part of a quartet, in this wonderful song.  It was just superb!  Hannah was excellent in her role as announcer for the choir.  It was another very proud moment for Mrs Wehmeyer and Mrs Baxter. Congratulations goes to all our choir members:  Hannah, Anna, Aidan, Isla S, Isla C, Grace, Lylah, Amelia and Sophia. The choir then supported the performance of our Primary 1's.  They were just so cute and sang beautifully.

After inspecting the contents of Kitbag, we decided that we would try and make our own one to use in our class.  We started this activity by making animal cards with a human quality.  The children really enjoyed making this and we look forward to completing all the parts for the kitbag.

In Maths we started looking at units of measure, length and volume.  We wrote all these terms into our maths jotters to assist us with our work.
We completed a baseline writing task and everyone took great care with the presentation of their work. This is an imaginative piece of writing.

For Outdoor Learning we completed our group bird posters.  A lot of work has gone into producing these and we gained a lot of new information about five types of birds we find in our playground.  We looked at a powerpoint presentation on seed dispersal and created information cards on this. Well done everyone!

Thank you for donations of wool and crochet hooks for the class.  The girls, in particular, are enjoying this activity. It is very relaxing and calming.
Our Social Target winner of the Week is Freya.  Freya always has a kind, generous and respectful attitude towards others.  Well done!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
