P5/6 have now produced all the items for our Christmas Enterprise and we are looking forward to the Christmas Fayre.  Well done to everyone for all your hard work and for helping to produce items of a very high quality.  Anna and Isla R have created a fabulous logo to go with our Enterprise name. The name is "Crystal Christmas Stars".  Well done to Freya for creating this name for our Enterprise shop.
A huge highlight this week was the outstanding performance from the twelve choir members from our class, at the Dunfermline Gala Concert held at the Alhambra on Tuesday night.  The children had a brilliant time. They lit up the stage with their wonderful smiles and beautiful singing.  Thank you again to Mrs Howie, Miss Graham and Mrs Yuil for supporting the children at the concert.  It was also fantastic to have Mrs Baxter play the piano for us.  We are so lucky to still have her support.  Well done to Hannah, Anna, Aidan, Phoebe, Freya, Allie, Isla R, Isla S, Isla C, Grace, Amelia and Lylah.  You were spectacular and everyone looked super smart in full school uniforms with a bit of Christmas bling.
We have enjoyed learning the "Strip the Willow", Scottish dance.  We joined up with P6 and the children picked up all the dance moves very quickly and had a lot of fun. Well done boys and girls!
Our wonderful class novel , "The Last Bear" by Hannah Gold has been the inspiriation for some polar bear artworks.  We are only using pencil and black fineliners to create these. The focus is on using a variety of techniques like shading, cross-hatching, tonal lines, pointellism, squiggles, eraser wipe out work and smudging techniques.
In Maths we are working hard on identifying all the properties of 3-D shapes and we are now looking at more complex ones.  They are quite tricky to draw.
After listening to the poet, Joseph Coelho, we attempte to write our own emotions poems.  We picked three different emotions to write about.  There has been some fantastic writing by all the children.  They will select their favourite one to record via Seesaw.  A big shout out goes to the eight children who recorded their Rotary Competition Performance poems via Seesaw.  These are fantastic and the children have worked very hard on using their  faces and bodies in an expressive manner to tell a story.  All of these have been posted on Seesaw.
On Thursday we all wore a touch of tartan to celebrate St Andrews day and the children had the opportunity to create their own tartan design.
Our Social Target Winner of the Week is Amelia.  Amelia has a positve attitude in school and she is able to make safe choices.  Well done Amelia.
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
