As we near the end of November we are starting to look forward to the run up to Christmas. It is always such a special time of the year for everyone!
We are working very hard on making items for our Christmas Fayre Shop, Crystal Christmas Stars.  Thank you to Freya who has selected the name and well done to everyone who put forward a name for consideration. After a class vote we selected Anna and Isla R's logo designs and will combine the two to make one new design.  Well done girls!
We have made some lovely posters to advertise our shop.Thank you to Phoebe and her advertising team for creating these.
We have completed our recycled paper offcut birds and animals and our
3- D toilet tube stars have now been painted.  It needed many coats of paint but it is now ready to be decorated with metallic pens. Thank you to all the girls and boys for taking their turn to get these painted.
Our beaded snowmen keyrings have been placed into triangular boxes with a little treat.  They are just fabulous and so cheerful. We also made some surprise Christmas jumper boxes and they are filled with treats and small gifts. Thank you to all the boys who helped to get these filled.
We continue to work on better comprehension skills using the Reading Five activity.  This activity consists out of five different tasks: Read to Self, Read to a Buddy, Listen to Someone Read, Word Work and Write About it.  It is great to see the high level of engagement from everyone. Lots of great questions have been asked and everyone is getting a lot better at using more expression in their reading. This includes the use of facial expression, gestures and change in tone of voice. Well done everyone!
In Maths we are looking at 3-D shape recognition and the use of the correct vocabulary to describe these shapes. We have also practiced the spelling of  all the different shape names.
We are still enjoying working with Mrs Mair from the Fife Music Initiative.  We know most of the words now and we are now lexpressing ourselves better when we sing, using a variety of techniques. It really sounds lovely!
For Outdoor Learning we did an experiment to show how you can colour white flowers using food colouring.
The movement of water from the glass into the stem and to the petals through the xylem occurs through capillary action. The water is pulled through the stem and evaporates through transpiration, however, the food colouring doesn't evaporate and colours the flower.
In writing we then wrote a set of instructions on how we conducted this experiment.
Our Social Target winner of the Week is Allie!  Allie is always very helpful in the class and enjoys doing tidy up jobs to keep our classroom environment neat and organised. What a respectful attitude!
We wish everyone a lovely weekend!
