It has been a very busy week in P5/6!
Everyone looked super smart in their school uniforms on Monday when the photographer was in to take some pictures.  The photographs look really fabulous and will be a great memory to have of this year.
On Tuesday we had a wonderful opportunity to engage with a Hockey Taster session offered by Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club. Some flyers were given out so if your child is interested in going to Hockey sessions please sign up. These sessions take place at Woodmill High School. We will have another session on Tuesday next week.
In Health we looked at a Powerpoint presentation about fairness for all genders. There were some great discussions on this topic. Well done everyone!
In Writing we wrote a diary entry using our topic on Mary, Queen of Scots as inspiration. The children were very enthusiatic about this task. Thank you to Murray, Lewis, Caitlin, Ryan, Jake and Issy who showed great confidence when they did a reading in front of their classmates. The reading told the story of the visit of Mary, Queen of Scots to Falkland Palace in 1562. The children will complete their writing by next week and we will share their efforts on Seesaw.
In preparation for the Queen's Jubilee celebrations next week we have completed some golden crowns to wear on our picnic day on Thursday.  Children are invited to come dressed in blue, white and red clothing on this day. Pyjamas  are also an option. We also completed crown themed cards to share with the residents of Canmore House and we made them their own "Pin the Heart on the Queen's Crown" game to play as part of their celebrations.  We also made this game for ourselves to play in class next week.  There are lots of other activites planned and the class will also be decorated.
Everyone had a fantastic day taking part in the Potted Sports activities and running races at Sports Day on Thursday. We all say thank you to Mrs Hay for organising this event for everyone.  It was wonderful to  welcome the parents back into our playground for this event. Well done to everyone for taking part and showing great teamwork and sportsmanship.
A huge congratulations goes to our Social Target of the Week winner, Riley for always showing  an inclusive attitude towards his classmates.
We hope eveyone has an enjoyable weekend!
