Welcome to Term 3!
We have had a fantastic time back together in class and had plenty of news to share with our classmates about our Christmas holidays. Everyone is happy to be back with their friends.
In Numeracy we have started to look at fractions specifically equivalences.  Everyone has worked hard and showed good understanding of the concept. We drew diagrams and then used multiplying and dividing to find equivalences.
During Term 3 there willl be a big focus on reading and we have set up Literacy Circle groups.  After reading specific pages in our groups everyone will work on completing a different task.  When we meet again we will share/discuss our task with our group. Congratulations to Sadie, Mollie L, Astra, Ava M and Astra who has been chosen as Literacy Circle leaders this term.
Our topic will be all about Space and everyone has shown great enthusiasm researching things in space during ICT time. We will present our information in a leaflet that will form part of our Space display.
We are all working hard at home to learn our Burns/Scottish poems focussing on clear diction, a good understanding of the poem, facial expression and gestures and a variation in pace and tone. Lots of practicing in front of a mirror.
Our class novel is "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes. We really enjoyed reading the very interesting first chapter. It was done in an unusual manner full of comical moments. We all created a picture to show key parts of the first chapter.
Our Junior Sports Leaders had a fantastic time getting training with Alex Bird from Active Schools. They enjoyed learning a variety of new skills.
Congratulations goes  to our Social Target of the Week winner Murray. Well done for maintaining a positive mindset throughout this week.
We wish everyone a restful weekend!
