It has been a very busy week in P5/6. The children continue to show a high level of effort with all of their work. Well done Primary 5/6!
It was wonderful to speak to parents about your children's progress and I am looking forward to speaking to more of you next week.
In number work we have started very well on column subtraction with and without regrouping. Everyone can explain the steps they need to take to do these calculations correctly. The children were also very pleased when they understood all the calculations they needed to show. We will now extend this knowledge when we start using bigger numbers.
We have completed a personal piece of writing on the kind of pets we have or would like to have. We focused on including our feelings about our pets. There was fantastic work on Homophones with a specific look at there, their and they're and why it is tricky to select the correct one to use in a sentence.
Our mini booklets on our sea animals is just fantastic. It is full of super information and drawings.  The children have been very enthusiastic about this project. We have started recording videos to show our work using a green screen. We are really excited to share our work with everyone!
We have completed our abstract art using the take a line for a walk concept.  They are super effective. We used cold or hot colours to complete our artworks and some Zentangling in black pen.
There was a lot of fun in the hall on Thursday during the Macmillan Fun Day.  Thank you to Primary 6 for organising all these activities for us.
Today we took part in the Race for Life by completing six laps around the field.
Our Social Target of the week winner is Katie Winski. Congratulations Katie. You are always very supportive to others in class.
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
