Primary 5 have enjoyed another very busy week in school - the weeks just seems to have flown past.

This week in literacy we became detectives as we were learning to answer literal questions on texts, hunting the passage for the information we needed. We also had fun writing imaginative stories focussing on making something reallly exciting happening in our stories, which were based on a weird and wonderful board game.

In numeracy we have finished our topic on place value by adding and subtracting multiples of ten and sequencing and ordering numbers. We have all worked really hard on this and are much more confident in working with bigger numbers.

In social studies we were learning about the layers of the ocean, and in science we were using liquid density to create our own five ocean layers. This tied in well with the work we have done on the molecules in solids, liquids and gases. We loved carrying out the expriment and we were fascinated to see the layers develop in our jars.

Another highlight of this week has been preparing for Jeans for Genes Day next week. Everyone has a role to play and we have been working hard on this in order to make it a big Canmore success.

Reading homework should have come home in school bags yesterday, and this should be returned on Monday, ready for our reading in class. On Monday homework grids will be sent out via Seesaw, so look out for these being posted.

I hope you have a fun weekend
