Good afternoon
This week primary 5 have been very keen to share their Powerpoints on animals of the Rainforest with the class. The children have been peer assessing each other on the various features of the Powerpoints, and I have to say I have been very impressed with their skills in adding images, transitions and animations.
In numeracy we have been learning strategies for addition. We have tried out the jump strategy and partitioning, and the children have picked these up incredibly well. I have been delighted to see lots of the children challenging themselves with quite tricky sums using these strategies. We will continue to investigate other strategies next week.
In literacy we have started to develop our skills in writing reports and in using headings and sub-headings. We are very busy creating our own personal lapbooks on deforestation so that we can apply the skills we are learning, and we look forward to sharing these with you once they are finished. We have also been learning to scan texts to find specific words and information.
At the moment our ipads are with Fife Council for an update/refresh, so the children are not able to upload anything on to Seesaw in school at the moment. We hope the ipads will be back with us soon.
Our homework grids for this term were issued on Seesaw on Wednesday. Homework will follow the same format as in term 1, and all the necessary instructions have been posted to you.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
