Good Afternoon .
I hope you had a lovely holiday. It was so nice to see the children back in school on Monday safe and well, and looking forward to this next term.
In numeracy we are starting on the topic of addition and subtraction, and we will be using different strategies to work with larger numbers.
In literacy this term we will have a focus on factual writing, and we have started off by looking at the use of headings and sub-headings. In our social studies topic we are creating lapbooks on the Rainforest, and we will be practising our factual writing skills in these. The children have made an excellent start to these, and they are all using their learning powers of creativity to put their individual ideas into them.
It was a slightly strange start to the term as we had to design our christmas cards this week - even before Hallowe'en. You should have received communication from the school regarding how our christmas cards can be ordered this week. I would like to remind you that the children's designs should be returned to school by Monday 2nd November.
Having got Christmas out of the way for a short while, it was lovely to see the children dressing up for Hallowe'en in school today and seing them enjoy the different activities we did. Hallowe'en may have to be different this year, but that does not mean it can't still be fun!
Our PE days are still a Monday and a Wednesday this term and children should continue to come to school on these days dressed for outdoor PE. This terms homework will be issued next Wednesday on Seesaw.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
