It has been a very busy first full week of school, and the children are settling in well to their new routine. Everyone had fun in Science, investigating friction, so if they are trying to slide around the house on different surfaces you will know why! This was the start of our Fairground project which is science based and focuses on Energy and Forces.
In Numeracy, we are all looking at place value and extending our understanding of the place value system.
We also  tested our resilience this week in our problem solving activity. The task was not as easy as the children first anticipated, but they rose to the challenge, persevered and gave it their best shot.
We have also been developing our class charter and the children are working on a  colourful display of our agreed expectations which links to our Fairground theme.
We were excited to  welcome a new member to our class - Cuddles, the Worry Monster. Cuddles loves to gobble up children's worries, and loves to give hugs, and so far he is proving a popular, well-behaved member of P5.
Can I please ask that as many of you as possible prebook your children's lunches - even if they are having a packed lunch? It is taking a considerable amount of time in the morning to get through all the people who still need to register - not least because the system here keeps glitching. Thank for your support in this.
Have a lovely weekend!
