I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend break. We were straight back into our work on Monday.

In Literacy our main focus this week was writing a newspaper report on the Battle of Bannockburn. We watched a short video detailing the main characters and explaining the tactics used, whilst re enacting the Scots' victory. We used a newspaper template to support the layout of our article and even included a 'photograph' from the scene. We continued with our spelling practise and read the next chapters of our reading books.

Our new topic in Numeracy is Fractions. We discussed and demonstrated our existing knowledge, whilst finding fractions of whole numbers. We compared equivalent fractions and completed some challenging word problems. We hope to move onto simplifying and ordering fractions next week.

In HWB we looked at 'The Learning Pit' and discussed how to show perseverance and resilience in our learning. We then created our own personalised 'Learning Pit' which we can use in class to support us.

To help with our Writing this week, for topic we studied the life of Robert the Bruce and in particular, researched the Battle of Bannockburn.

In P.E. we set out one large circuit of gymnastics equipment and tried to come up with different ways to travel. For Art we looked at perspective in drawing and created our own fun pictures.

It was lovely to see so many uniforms being worn for World Thinking Day and hearing about all the badges achieved and the fun activities that the children experience at their clubs.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
