We were joined by Primary 4 on Thursday afternoon, to celebrate St Andrew's Day. We listened to Scottish folk music whilst nibbling on shortbread and having a wee 'dram' of Irn Bru. Delicious!! Everyone looked very bonnie in their 'touch of tartan' to add to the occassion.

In Literacy we made a bank of sentence openers to help support us in our writing. Our aim is to include a variety of openers to up level our work, ensuring that it is more varied and exciting for the reader. We continued with our reading and spelling programmes and had the opportunity to practise our handwriting as an extra activity during the week. We also completed a comprehension exercise on St Andrew and watched a short video about traditional celebrations in Scotland and around the world.

This week in Numeracy we moved onto multiplication for our main topic. We used interactive games to consolidate and challenge our tables work and completed simple, one/two step word problems.

In Art we made some tartan decorations for Mrs Howie to put up in the hall to continue the St Andrew's Day celebrations. And on Friday we had another practise of our Scottish Country dancing.

Christmas has definitely arrived at Canmore now and we are all very excited for all the festivities coming our way.

Have a great weekend.
