Another very quick week with lots of great learning taking place. On Thursday we had a STEM team visit the school and P5 were first up to take on the challenge of 'Saving the Baby'. In groups, the children had to decide which resources to 'buy' to help them 'save' the baby ( egg ) as it fell. We had so much fun and the girls and boys worked really well together to tackle the problem.

A new Homework Grid for the term is available on Seesaw, along with your child's weekly spelling words. Reading is also up and running again.

In Literacy we are continuing our daily writing and are definitely seeing some great results. The children are finding it much easier to use the correct punctuation when writing in sentences and are now ready to tackle our next aim; using connectives successfully.

In Numeracy we have moved on to subtraction work and are practising the different strategies needed for word problems. We hope to introduce 'giving change' as part of our Money topic later on in the month. We are also consolidating our times tables knowledge, along with a supporting task in the Homework Grid.

We learned more about Tsunamis as part of our Oceans topic, which is coming to a close soon. We learned some really interesting facts and watched videos showing them in full force ; nature at it's most terrifying !!

We learned the full story about Guy Fawkes and made fireworks pictures using coloured chalk in Art and in P.E. we worked in groups to design and set up fitness circuits. In Friday's P.E we had the opportunity to demonstrate our designs and to try out each others.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend. If you make it to any displays, enjoy the fireworks and stay safe.
