What a Scottish themed week we have enjoyed in Primary 4/5!
With Burns Night just around the corner, we have loved learning some new Scots words and sayings. We have also applied our dictionary skills to create our very own Scots Dictionary. Have a look on Seesaw to discover our 'braw' dictionaries!

We have also worked really hard to learn our Scots poem. Miss Graham and Mrs Westwood really enjoyed listening to the children recite their Scots poem with actions. Each pupil had the opportunity to perform in front of a small audience and could choose one of three poems to perform. The three poems this year that we focused on were Oor Dentist, Nessie and My Heart is in the Highlands. What a super effort from everyone, a BIG well done as well to our class winners!

In topic we are looking at Scottish myths and legends. This week we focused on the Loch Ness Monster. We learnt the difference between fact and opinion and had the opportunity to apply our vocabulary skills as we described a Loch Ness Monster sighting! Take a look on seesaw to see the beautiful descriptive pieces we have completed as part of our writing task. Please vote on Seesaw for the myth/legend ypu would like to learn about next week. Like the picture of the myth/legend that you think we should focus on. We will close the vote on Monday morning.

I look forward to seeing what myth/legend you will vote for!

Miss Graham
