What another busy week in the classroom. This week we have had the chance to apply our ball skills in a small game context. This was really exciting and everyone had lots of fun working together to gain points for their team.
In Numeracy this week we have been learning different written and mental strategies for addition. We began by looking at the number square and using this as a resource tool for adding to 100. Then we started looking at partitioning numbers and adding them together. Some children challenged themselves to add three digit numbers by partitioning and Miss Graham was super impressed!
We have also had the opportunity to start discussing and planning for a writing competition. This is around the theme of 'This is Me' exploring what makes us unique. This allowed us to use our senses and adjectives to describe our key attributes. We were also focusing on similes. Ask me what a simile is at home. We look forward to editing these and sending them off to the Young Writer's writing competition.
This week we also designed our Christmas card (we know it is a little early) please look at our designs and fill in the information to place an order for a Christmas treat! If you could please do this and return the original artwork to school before next Wednesday that would be very helpful.
