In Literacy this week we were continuing to look at our colourful semantics, our focus was changing the openers we used to make our sentences more interesting. We used the Eurovision song by Norway as our prompt before retelling the story of Little Red Riding Hood to include a banana.  Please check out our creative pieces on Seesaw and check to see if we managed to get all of the success criteria! In writing, we were recalling our instructions/recipes from last week and making sure we used our bossy verbs/time openers and connectives to add detail to our pieces. As this was our third try at this, Miss Graham was super impressed at how well everyone remembered what a WAGOLL was and most children applied the success criteria to their work.

In Numeracy, we have been looking at division and using grouping, partitioning and formal written methods to complete our calculations. This week we even tried applying our skills to word problems to find success!

As we look forward to our trip next week, I would like to remind everyone that we will be outdoors for the majority of the Tuesday at Fordell Firs. Please ensure you are wrapped up warm, with suitable shoes that you don't mind getting a bit wet/muddy and bring a warm/waterproof coat as well. We look forward to sharing our adventures with you soon on Seesaw and in our writing all about this trip!

It is also important to note that because we have school photographs on Monday, we will NOT be having P.E that afternoon. Please come to school in FULL school uniform ready to give a BIG smile for the camera! Next week we also look forward to Sports Day on Thursday morning, as communication has already went out regarding this, we look forward to welcoming you to observe our competitive Canmore sports spirit. Hopefully the rain will hold off and we will see you there!

Have a fabulous weekend,
Miss Graham
