Good afternoon
I would just like to say how lovely it has been to chat to so many of you at our parents evening this week. It is so nice to meet face to face once again and to be able to discuss your child's progress in person. I look forward to chatting with more of you next week.
This week's big excitement has been preparing and organising Jeans for Genes Day. On Tuesday we had a fantastic team of presenters who represented our class at Reconnecters and shared with the school what Genes are, what life is like for some children with genetic conditions and how the Jeans for Genes charity supports these children.  I am sure you will agree that presenting to a large audience is not always an easy thing to do, but they did an excellent job and I was very proud of their efforts and the confidence they showed. Our IT team also did a fantastic job running the Powerpoint and showing the video clips to support the talk.
Our posters were completed by our very creative advertising team and are now on display around the school. They are very colourful and eye-catching and are doing a great job of promoting the event - some of you may have spotted some of them at parents evening.
Everyone had lots of fun taking part in the different activities today, and Primary 4 have collected in the denim design competition ready to select the winners, and to present the prizes next Friday.
We have also been working hard in Literacy. We are continuing to develop our sentence building skills, using interesting adjectives. In writing this week we went on another adventure through the wardrobe so that we could practise using our adjectives to describe an amazing, magical land.
In Numeracy we have completed our topic on Place Value and we are now working on giving directions. We had lots of fun programming the Beebots, and writing directions for castle characters to move around a map and are getting more confident in our right and left turns with practise.
I hope those of you coming to the Summer Fete have a lovely time and that you all have a good weekend
