Good afternoon
My goodness, already we are at the end of our first full week! I am happy to say that the children are settling in well to Primary 4. They are working hard to learn the new expectations of being in the upper school and this week we have been working hard at learning to work together as team P4.
This week we have been learning all about the learning powers we need to have in order to be successful learners, and we have had fun practising these different skills through different activities and games.
In numeracy we have started on our first topic of place value and I have to say I have been very impressed at how well they have been working on this so far.
In literacy we have started on our new reading books, and these will start to come home next week as part of our homework. In writing we have been busy practising our sentence building skills, and we also wrote an imaginative story. We were also very excited to get started on our new class novel ‘The Legend of Spud Murphy’.
Please look on Seesaw for a letter explaining what homework will look like in Primary 4. The homework grids and spelling lists will be posted on Monday.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Haddow
