Welcome back to Term 4. I hope you all had a nice break. On Monday morning, after Reconnector, the class were lucky enough to join in an Easter Scavenger Hunt which was a fun way to start the new term.

In Literacy this week we have been consolidating our spelling and grammar skills, with various benchmarks being covered, using practical and worksheet activities. We also continued working on our comprehension and handwriting.

In Numeracy we used the interactive game Topmarks to improve the speed and accuracy of our times tables. This supported our work on division, which we will focus on for the next two weeks.

Our topic this term is the Romans which everyone is very excited about. We shared all the facts that we already know and discussed what we would like to find out more about.

In Art this term we will be studying the work of famous artists. We started with LS Lowry and looked at his many industrial drawings and paintings. We listened to a song all about his 'matchstick men and matchstick cats and dogs'  which we found quite 'catchy'. We then recreated his St Francis Street scene, picture using similar techniques and colour.

We rounded off the week with Outdoor Learning on Friday. We played lots of different games to help us learn and practise compass and directional skills. It was great fun.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
