This week in Literacy we have been practising our dictionary skills, ordering words to the third letter and finding definitions. We have also been consolidating our spelling patterns for 2 digraph vowels ( ai,oi,ea etc ) In Writing we continued our work on formal letter writing, considering layout and content.
In Numeracy we have been focusing on equivalent fractions of whole numbers, using a fraction wall for support. We have been practising our tables to improve accuracy and speed.
For HWB we looked at further ways to keep us safe in and around the home. We also researched the effects of smoking and drinking on our health.
For our topic, Our Bodies, we finished off the block on senses by studying 'touch', and played a fun game, guessing the mystery object inside the bag.
For Outdoor Learning this week we prepared and planted sunflower seeds which we hope will decorate the playground with in the coming weeks.
We finished off the week with an Interhouse Benchball Competition in which our class were involved. It proved a huge success and the children had fun.
Fingers crossed for another glorious weekend with plenty of sunshine.
