This week in Numeracy we have moved on from reading calendars to consolidating our understanding of am/pm, o'clock, half past and quarter past/to the hour. We have been reading, writing and matching analogue and digital displays. For Practical Maths, problem solving, we used known strategies to answer time related word problems.

In Literacy we continued using the PrimEd Comprehension Box, learning to answer inferential and more complex questions. In grammar we were looking at synonyms ( which we discovered isn't easy to pronounce !! ) but thankfully easier to find.

For our topic, 'Our Bodies' we focused on learning about the brain and the heart. We completed labelled diagrams, watched informative videos and reasearched each to find out about how they work and what they do for us. We also found out what we could do to keep both healthy as part of our HWB programme of work.

We are creating our own powerpoints in ICT and hope to share them with the class soon. We have been reseaching a topic of our choice and are enjoying discovering all the tools available on the powerpoint programme.

For Art, where we are working with different materials this term, we looked at examples of Aboriginal work and found out about the tecnniques and colours used. We recreated our own work, using earthy paint colours and cotton buds to achieve the desired look.

We plan to take part in the Great British Garden Bird Watch as part of our Outdoor Learning programme so this week we made bird seed fat balls to encourage them to visit our playground.

Wishing everyone a nice weekend.
