Firstly, let me say how lovely it was to see lots of you on Tuesday evening. Our first parents night allowed me to tell you how proud I am of your children and showcase some of their learning/examples of their work. I look forward to seeing some more of you on Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Please also note the upcoming open afternoon on Wednesday 27th March. Keep your eyes peeled for further information in the upcoming week about this opportunity to come and see some of the Viking magic that P3/4 have been preparing.

In topic, we have continued to focus on preparing for our open afternoon, we have started song practice with the Primary 3 pupils and will perform 2 short songs linked to the Vikings. We have got lots of information to share and artwork to showcase as well as some challenges for you to complete.

Our class novel 'Thorfinn the Nicest Viking' has also focused our attention and we have been able to use this book as a stimulus for our literacy work. We have looked at a WAGOLL recount this week and had a go at writing using the specific success criteria for this text type. Our comprehension skills have also been tested as we have looked at true/false statements and tried to identify and sort information.

Our class have also focused in our multiplication and division this week, most of the P3 pupils have been working on consolidating x3, x4 tables and I continue to encourage you play the games on the homework grid to further consolidate this area of learning. The P4 pupils have moved onto looking at the link between x2,4,8 and we have had lots of fun playing mental maths games in class to help support this.

Another quick and wonderful week in P3/4, I look forward to seeing some of you next week.

Miss Graham
