Good afternoon,

What a fun filled week it has been.

The highlight of the week was the Sports Day practice. There was a bit of drizzle but it didn’t dampen our spirits. We are now all really excited to show everyone our sports skills on Thursday 8th (hopefully). Please come ready in PE kit but with Outdoor Learning clothes for the afternoon. Please remember jackets too!

In Literacy, we used the upcoming Sports Day to practise our poster skills. We had to think about layout, colour choices and graphics. It was also very important to have the correct information on the posters so that everyone knows when and where it is. Have a look in school bags tonight to see our hard work.

In Numeracy, we are coming to the end of our multiplication and division unit of work. We have lots of different strategies to work out the answers to questions. We also started revising measuring length and then using this knowledge to help calculate the perimeter of a shape.

In Outdoor Learning, we visited the woods. We had a lovely time creating 3D sculpture with the materials we found there. There was some pretty impressive structure. We had a nature Eiffel Tower, a minibeast pyramid and a turtle. We left these for people to enjoy. If you would like to visit them the are in the North Woods, next to the Crematorium. After asking parents to come to school for Sports Day, we thought that we would have Outdoor Learning in the school grounds next week. We will be back to the woods the following week as usual.

Hope everyone has a lovely long weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday
