Good afternoon,

What a busy but fun week in P3! We had a brilliant time at the woods where we went on a bug safari with magnifying glasses. There were all sorts of creatures to be found from ground beetles to slugs. The class then built minibeast habitats with kitchen roll tubes and natural items found in the woods. Several of these are awaiting inhabitants in the Canmore garden.

In Literacy, we have been continuing work on making our writing even more interesting through the use of synonyms. These skills were incredibly useful for writing our Draw your Dad pictures.

We have been practising our tables in Numeracy by making arrays, number lines, singing tables songs and making groups. We are using this knowledge to help us with dividing too. It really helps if we know the tables to help see the patterns so please keep practising at home too.

In topic this week, we learnt all about mummification. It was a fairly gruesome process. We had the chance to try for ourselves but using an apple instead of a body! Next week, we are going to check if the process is working so fingers crossed. There will be an update on Seesaw early next week.

We are still looking for helpers for Outdoor Learning on Thursday (1st June) so if you, or a family member, are free please get in touch either through Seesaw or by contacting the office. We are working towards our Silver Natural Connections Award and to gain it we need to visit areas in the community so these sessions are really important!

Hope you have a super weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.
