Good afternoon,

We had another trip to the woods this week. We got to explore the woods and look for items on a woodland scavenger hunt list. Some of the items were a little tricky to find but we persevered and kept looking.

We have been practising our persuasive writing skills. This week we were to design a super bike or scooter with lots of different features and label the drawing. We then had to think about what we could write to persuade people to buy our product. The reasoning was so effective Mrs Hay now has a long list of upgrades that she would like to make to her bike.

This week we have been looking at the close relationship between multiplication and division. We have looked at grouping and sharing strategies. We had a lot of fun using pasta to test out how to group and share different quantities. We are now all ready to apply all our learning to the times table stations next week.

There was an opportunity to look at what happened in Ancient Egypt this week. We looked at a timeline of events that happened and discovered that the year numbers went backwards and noticed that the letters BC were behind the years. We then carried out some research on Pharaohs, did you know that the word Pharaoh is Greek not Egyptian? Lastly, we looked at what the Ancient Egyptians wore. We are all set to make some fascinating head gear next week!

Due to a timetabling change, to celebrate Mrs Baxter retiring (shhhh, it’s a secret), there will be no Outdoor Learning next week. Thank you to all the people who have volunteered.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.
