Good Morning,

We had an adventurous week! In literacy, we have been learning all about birds so we can write our own class bird watching guide. We had to find the information about our birds in information texts and then write up a page for the book. This knowledge then helped us during our Outdoor Learning, which was very exciting as we headed out to a local green space. There were lots of trees and bushed so we saw different birds than when we were bird watching at school. We also took the litter pickers so we could leave the area looking better than when we arrived.

In Numeracy, we have been continuing with subtraction. We have been learning about regrouping numbers. Our new strategy is to use bundle of 10 lollypop sticks and extra ones. This strategy has been a big success with most of our learners but some have preferred to stay with partitioning numbers.

In IDL, we have been learning about the inventor William Cullen who first demonstrated artificial refrigeration. We have set up an experiment to see why we refrigerate food. We have boxes of food in the classroom and the same items in a fridge. We are going to see what happens in each box. Mrs Hay isn’t looking forward to looking in the boxes next week!

We have started choreographing our creative dance in PE. The class have listened to several pieces of music and have decided to dance to 'Barbra Streisand by Duck Sauc'e. We have a great beginning and we are looking forward to making more of the dance in the coming weeks.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday
