Good afternoon,

This week we have had a focus on the RSPB Big Bird Watch. In Literacy, we have continued our learning about acrostic poems. We looked at four different types of birds, blackbird, blue tit, seagull and robin. For each of the birds we thought about what the bird looked like and the types of describing words we could use. We then chose one to write a poem about. We learned how to attract birds to the garden through a information hunt. Using what we found out, we then made bird feeders to try and bring more birds to the school. Finally, we sat and bird watched for Outdoor Learning. We recorded what we saw to upload on the RSPB Big Bird Watch.

In Numeracy, we have been continuing to learn about subtraction. We have learnt a new strategy this week. We have been partitioning numbers and then subtracting them. Most of the class really like this strategy! Hopefully, in a few weeks, we will be confident enough to teach this strategy to others!

Hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday
