Good afternoon,

It has been a very busy week!

In writing, we have been looking at acrostic poems. We learnt how to write this type of poem and then wrote our own with a Winter theme. There was lots of different wintery ideas bare trees, icicles, cosy hats and scarfs, and snowmen. In reading, we have continued to work on predicting what happens in a story from the front cover. This time we looked at a story called 'The Crow's Tale', the suggestions about what happened were super.

This week we have continued working on subtraction strategies. We have been subtracting multiples of 10 from 2 or 3-digit numbers. We have lots of different ways of working out the answer, from using Dienes tens and ones to using an empty number line.

It was exciting in Outdoor Learning this week. We got to build dens in teams. Miss Yorkston and Mrs Hay challenged us to make dens big enough for the whole group to sit in. There was an extra challenge to fit a teacher in as well. Needless to say, Mrs Hay couldn't wait to try the dens out! There was some fantastic team work and the finished results were very impressive!

Hope you have a relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.
