Good afternoon,

We have packed lots into a short week! In Literacy, we have written the introduction for our ‘Toy Story’. There were some fantastic descriptions of toys which were soft, fluffy, shiny or glittery. The adventure is just beginning but already exciting. We have also been identifying verbs in text. We have made a display of lots of verbs on the wall of our classroom so when we write we can choose more interesting words.

In Numeracy, we have continued to work on our addition strategies. The Empty Number Line has clicked into place for lots of us this week and it means we can look back and see where we made our mistakes rather than getting it wrong. I have had questions about what this method is. Please follow this link if you are wondering how to do this strategy or even better ask us how to do this! Currently, when we come to our ones we do then individually not in blocks.

We had such an exciting afternoon on Tuesday. The McDougalls came for a visit. Max and Auntie Aggy taught us some songs and the actions. What a huge amount of fun we all had, even the teachers had to join in!

Hope you have a lovely, relaxing long weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.
