Good afternoon,

The excitement levels rose significantly in Primary 3 this week when we started our Christmas card designs. We spent time using lots of different media, including chalk, paper collage and paint, to create a winter scene. These will be coming home soon to give lots of time to order, print and distribute ready for the Festive season.

In Literacy, we have been focusing on character description. We used our class novel to highlight the adjectives in the text and then wrote our own descriptions of Matilda. We also started a description of a Troll for our writing. We spent time thinking of ways to describe the different parts of the character. There were some fantastic adjectives being used.

We have been working hard on partitioning this week in Numeracy. There has been exploring of different models for breaking down numbers and putting them back together again. We have used part, whole models and place value arrows. By the end of the week, we were really quick at breaking down the numbers!

This week, we learnt about hand washing to help our new friend Bob learn about personal hygiene. We have set up an experiment to find out what grows on bread when we handle it with dirty and clean hands. Hopefully, it will show some interesting results.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.
