Another busy week in P2!

A highlight this week was releasing the butterflies. We chose a warm day and took them to the garden. It was very exciting to see all five of them fly off, a little sad but pretty magical.

In Literacy, we have continued to look at the alphabet. This week the focus was 'which letter is before and after'. We were very good at filling in the blanks. We then practiced putting words into alphabetical order. In writing, we reported on the results of our daisy experiment. This week in phonics Paul the Astronaut helped us learn the au sound. There is homework to help us learn this sound which can be found in the activity section in Seesaw.

We have had lots of fun in Numeracy this week looking at measuring length in non-standard units. We have used hands, feet, cubes and lolly pop sticks, then used the results to decide which was longer and shorter. We even measured how tall we all were on a class height chart.

In Outdoor Learning, we made wildflower seed bombs. We are going to let them dry and then scatter them in our planter in the garden and along the window at our new area. Hopefully, it will bring a splash of colour to brighten things up.

I was particularly excited on Thursday to find out that I get to spend another year with this class. We are all very excited to have a look at our new area on Monday so we can think about how we might like the area to look and what we would like to have in it to help us all learn.

I hope that you all have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.
