What an action-packed week!

Sports Day was a highlight. The weather was against us but it didn’t stop us having fun. The Potted Sports were brilliant and we saw lots of good sportsmanship. Then we had lots of fun watching and running the races. It was so lovely seeing parents back in school and we were all very sad that there wasn’t a parent’s race but there is always next year.

In Literacy, we have continued to work on spotting nouns, verbs and adjectives. This week the farmers were digging for the foxes in Fantastic Mr Fox. It was very exciting and we found lots of language to highlight in the text. We have also continued to practise our informational writing skills. This week we were writing up a Science experiment. We have put daisies in coloured water and now we are patiently waiting to see the results. Some of the daisies are already changing colour!

We have been continuing to learn about division this week. We started the grouping strategy. The pasta was out again to help us with our working again. Mrs Hay was very impressed at how well we all did! For Data Handling, we looked at pictograms. We compared them to the bar charts that we have been working on. We saw a lot of similarities but like that we got to use pictures instead of blocks.

Hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.
