I can’t quite believe we are at the end of another week!

In Literacy, we have moved on to factual writing about how people kept clean in the Medieval period. This week we have been doing research about all the different hygiene practises. As you can imagine the information about going to the toilet made us giggle.
We have continued to work on synonyms and antonyms by improving the story Mrs Hay wrote about meeting a giant. We used synonyms to make our writing more powerful and interesting. Some of us used antonyms to make our writing funny describing a small giant.

There was a lot of excitement this week in Numeracy as we moved the first step of learning to multiply. We have revised doubling and skip counting in 2s. Please keep practising these skills at home, it really does help. We also moved onto repeated addition to help us understand what is happening to a number when we multiply.

We celebrated Earth Hour today by switching off the lights for an hour. We thought about the environment and what we can do to help reduce our carbon footprint. We have all made a promise to the earth to help the environment. If you would like to celebrate Earth Hour too, it is on Saturday (26th March) at 8:30pm and all you have to do is switch you lights for an hour. Remember to look out some torches or candles!

On Friday afternoon, some of the older pupils took part in an Interhouse Bench Ball Competition. We got to go along and support some of the games. It was really exciting and we had great fun cheering our house teams on and waving flags in support.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!
