Good afternoon,
Being the Queen's Platinum Jubilee week, we themed much of our learning around this. After learning the last of our 100 common words the children thoroughly enjoyed listening to stories including, The Queen's Hat and The Queen's Knickers and I hope you have been able to share one of these with your child using the link on Seesaw.
We also introduced our maths topic of `pattern' by designing a Jubilee dress for the Queen. The children are looking forward to seeing if she is wearing any of their designs as they watch her on television over the weekend. We explored the idea of a repeated pattern as we created blue, red and white paper chains to decorate the classroom.
Other highlights this week included a Jubilee lunch with a visit from the Queen herself, a Jubilee Garden Party with P1b in the field, arriving at our Daily Mile Destination of USA and a walkabout session on Welly Wednesday.
