Primary 1a weekly update

Good afternoon,

In maths this week we were learning to compare and describe length, thickness, capacity and mass as Buster set us a series of challenges to find longer sticks, thicker books and a water bottle and snack box which hold the most. On Monday we will complete our block of measure as Buster sets us a challenge to find the heaviest stone in the construction area.

We developed skills in Science, Health and Well-being and Writing as we learned about and prepared a composter before creating posters to inform the rest of the school community about its purpose, its use and its location. We then learned about talking to a large audience as part of our listening and talking curriculum before  presenting at the Reconnector assembly. We are looking forward to making some lovely rich compost for our school planters.

Of course the highlight of the week was participating in our very first school sports day. Even the rain couldn`t dampen our spirits ! I hope you also had a wonderful time if you made it along to spectate.
